Yu-Ming Wang has a wealth of experience in the asset management industry with a notable track record particularly in managing global fixed income. As Nikko AM's Global Head of Investment, he orchestrates the work of Nikko AM’s global investment team, which covers staff in 9 countries.
He joined Nikko AM as international CIO in January 2013. He assumed the position of Deputy President in addition to his roles as international CIO in April 2014.
Rob heads Macro for the Asia ex-Japan equity team and runs an Asian focused absolute return fund. He has approximately 30 years of experience in the securities industry, with a particularly strong background in fixed income research and management.
William Low is the head of the Global Equity team and heads Nikko Asset Management's Edinburgh office.
Prior to joining Nikko Asset Management, William was Director of Equities at SWIP, where he had overall responsibility for the Global Equity, Specialist Equity, Dealing and Governance teams within SWIP.
James Lindsay is Senior Portfolio Manager at Nikko AM having joined the company in 1998. James has over two decades of investing in the Australasian sharemarkets and had a number of years experience in sharebroking prior to becoming an Australasian Equity Analyst at Royal and SunAlliance Asset Management in Wellington. He joined the Auckland-based team in 1999 as an Equity Analyst, before being promoted to the role of Domestic Equities Manager in May 2001 and to Senior Portfolio Manager in April 2012. He achieved Honours in his Masters of Commerce degree, completed the Diploma NZSE course and has a Bachelor of Commerce. He is a member of the Institute of Finance Professionals (INFINZ) and sits on the Australiasian Corporate Reporting Users' Forum (CRUF).
Fergus is Head of the Bond and Currency team in New Zealand. He is responsible for the investment strategy, performance and compliance of Bond and Currency mandates.
Fergus has been actively involved in the New Zealand financial markets since 1981. Prior to joining the company in 1990 as the New Zealand Fixed Interest Manager, he was employed in a similar role with Royal and SunAlliance. Fergus has considerable experience in managing bond portfolios that combine Government stock and derivatives with corporate debt securities. He was instrumental in developing and managing New Zealand’s first corporate bond unit trust.
Cathie registered ARK Investment Management LLC (“ARK”) as an investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in January 2014. Prior to ARK, Cathie spent twelve years at AllianceBernstein as Chief Investment Officer of Global Thematic Strategies where she managed $5 billion. Cathie joined Alliance Capital from Tupelo Capital Management, a hedge fund she co-founded which, in 2000, managed $800 million in global thematic strategies.
James joined Nikko AM in 2013 and has over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry. He was formerly the Head of Australian Fixed Income and Co-Head of Global Fixed Income, based in Nikko AM Australia.
James has a breadth of experience in managing fixed income portfolios across many different strategies encompassing both core fixed income exposures and liability driven investing. Prior to Nikko AM, he worked as Director of Passive & Enhanced Fixed Income and subsequently as Director of Australian Fixed Income at AllianceBerstein for over 10 years. He began his career on the trading floor of the Sydney Futures Exchange after emigrating from Canada in 1989. James holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta.
Rob is responsible for managing the various Multi-Asset portfolios, forming relative asset views based on team research and constructing portfolios to meet the risk parameters for each mandate.
Prior to the launch of the Multi-Asset effort in Singapore, Rob was a Senior Portfolio Manager with Nikko AM Americas, responsible for asset allocation with a focus on emerging market mandates. He has worked at Nikko AM Americas for over 9 years and has 19 years of experience in the industry.
Tanuj is a Portfolio Manager in Nikko Asset Management's Global Multi-Asset team responsible for implementing exposures to alternative assets and supporting portfolio construction and risk management processes.
Before joining Nikko in 2014, he was a co-founder and portfolio manager at Nuvest Capital Pte Ltd. in Singapore where he co-managed a global, multi-asset fund with a focus on alternatives. Prior to that he held various quantitative roles at Citadel Investment Group, Optimal Fund Management and Salomon Smith Barney/Citigroup.
Sebastian is responsible for managing the team’s moderate risk funds and trading implementation. He also leads the team’s credit research and is responsible for certain country specific research within emerging markets. Sebastian joined Nikko AM Asia in Singapore after relocating from Nikko AM’s Australia office, where he worked as a portfolio manager within the Portfolio Solutions Group, focusing on asset allocation within multi-manager funds. Prior to this, he spent 4 years as an analyst at Challenger Limited, working in Performance, Risk Analytics and Security Valuation. He has over 10 years of industry experience.
Eric's primary responsibilities include Real Estate portfolios.
He started his career in Henderson Global Investors in 2009 as an analyst where he was a part of the Asia Pacific property equities team which managed over US$1 billion of assets in Asia-Pacific property equities. He was subsequently appointed as a Senior Analyst in 2011 and promoted to Associate Fund Manager, assisting in the managing of the Henderson Horizon Asia Pacific Property Equities Fund in 2012.
Ashwin covers telecommunications, utilities, and industrials sectors across all markets in Asia ex-Japan.
He joined the firm from Treasury Asia Asset Management (TAAM) which was acquired by Nikko AM in 2013. His most recent role prior to TAAM was with CLSA Asia-Pacific where he was promoted to head research for the Singapore office.
Kathy covers the healthcare sector in Asia ex-Japan. She joined the firm from Treasury Asia Asset Management (TAAM) which was acquired by Nikko AM in 2013. At TAAM, Kathy was initially a generalist analyst covering a broad range of sectors ranging from financials to industrials to consumer. When TAAM switched its analysts to sector-based coverage, she moved to focus on healthcare and industrials in Asia ex-Japan.
A specialist in Asian equities, Kathy has been in the fund management industry for fourteen years. Prior to joining TAAM, Kathy worked with both Peter Sartori and Eng-Teck Tan at Credit Suisse Asset Management as an analyst, specialising in South East Asia and the Asian listed property sector.
Between 2000 and 2003, Kathy was with AIB Govett (Asia) Ltd where she was a member of the Asian equity investment team. She was responsible for quantitative risk analysis and portfolio construction. At the start of her career, she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for four years as an auditor and consultant.
Liang Choon leads a team of experienced analysts and portfolio managers, responsible for managing active Asian fixed income portfolios covering Asian local currency fixed income, Asian credits and Asian currencies.
He has approximately two decades of experience in the financial industry, of which 11 years were in managing Asian and Singapore fixed income portfolios. He was most recently with APS Komaba Asset Management, where he was responsible for managing their institutional Asian fixed income mandates.
